Trading Standards Officer (14/9)
Dumfries
£43,236.67 - £46,605.50
Are you ready to join our team in the beautiful south of Scotland?
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Community Protection service.
We have a vacancy for a qualified Trading Standards Officer to work within our small, but motivated, Trading Standards team.
This is a hybrid post, working from home with an office base in either Dumfries or Stranraer (your choice).
- You will be required to work 34 hours per week, 52.14 weeks per year, permanent
Ideally, we are looking for someone who can hit the ground running, with the Trading Standards Practitioner certificate (or equivalent), including metrology, and some experience of working in that role.
This is an exciting time to join the team as we are currently embarking on a digital transformation programme that will modernise our service delivery, make us more efficient and improve how we engage with businesses, the public and partner organisations.
We are happy to chat about flexible working so that you have the best hours that work for you and would be willing to consider any requests for part time working.
A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.
With an exciting benefits package, working for Dumfries and Galloway Council supports you to invest in your own health and wellbeing. Employees have access to our bespoke Vivup platform with over 800 discounts on everyday essentials from top UK retailers, restaurants, utility providers and more. Employees also get access to exclusive discounts from local businesses, a Cycle-to-Work scheme, financial support from My Money Matters, and guidance from our trained Wellbeing Champions.
Here at Dumfries and Galloway Council we are committed to equality, diversity and equal opportunity with our values, which include treating everyone with dignity, fairness and respect, driving us to tackle inequality. We are looking for people that can bring different perspectives and experiences and especially welcome applications from those who are underrepresented in our organisation.
