Full Job Description
We are currently recruiting an Estates Manager to work at a prestigious site in Stirling, managing both the grounds and security provisions across the site. Across the 2 teams there are circa 40 staff delivering the services, with the security being on a 24/7 365 basis and managed in shifts. The key part of the role will be to manage the people and provide guidance to the teams as well as overseeing subcontractor performance.,
- Managing a grounds team of operatives and a supervisor who will be responsible for the 330 acre estate.
- Estate features include and 18^th century landscape with 4,000 mature trees (some of which are over 300 years old), a loch, extensive grounds including lawns and planted areas and sports pitches.
- Managing winter aspects of grounds such as gritting and making areas safe for use by staff.
- Supporting the security manager in the management of the site security which is manned with a team of 24 staff covering 4 different shifts.
- Covering as the SIA escalations manager when the security manager is on annual leave.
- Supporting both teams with service delivery and staff management.
- Providing motivation and guidance in a period of transition.
- Oversee the management of regular staff performance, absence, and employee related matters.
- Managing specialist subcontractors as well as the in house teams ensuring they are providing cost effective work and performing in line with KPIS.
- Attending estate meetings to report on the performance and progress of the teams to senior management.
- Participate in the implementation of contingency planning and incident / emergency response management in collaboration with key stakeholders The ideal candidate will have the following experience and skills:
- Experience managing both security and grounds in an FM environment
- The ability to evaluate risk and identify suitable solutions
- Able to draught and present reports to the senior leadership team
The role is for a 6 month FTC to manage the work of someone retiring and provide a hand over while someone is permanently recruited in the role, you would be welcome to apply for the permanent role also and this would be a great opportunity to demonstrate your skills and gel with the team.
