Job Description
Glasgow City Council’s Summer Internship Programme will be available from Monday 9 June 2025 – Friday 29 August 2025, inclusive.
Applicants must be available for the full duration of the placement.
The intern will work 35 hours per week and rate of pay will be the Glasgow Living Wage. Interns will work for 12 weeks, during which time they will accrue 6 days leave, the payment of which is included in their Salary so must be taken during their 12-week placement.
Applicants require to be available week commencing 31 March 2025 for interview.
No One Left Behind (NOLB) is the Scottish Government’s Employability Strategy. Launched in 2018 and refreshed in 2024, NOLB requires Local Authorities to develop and deliver flexible employability support services to Glasgow’s residents. Currently NOLB services are delivered by internal Council services, Council Family organisations, and 3rd sector organisations through the annual Scottish Government (SG) NOLB grant, the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and GCC internal funding.
The Economic Development (ED) Employment and Strategy team, with support from the Centre for Civic Innovation (CCI), require 1 HND Graduate and 1 Penultimate year Undergraduate Intern to use the Scottish Approach to Service Design (SAtSD) principles to engage with stakeholders touched by employability to implement Lived Experience, Employer Engagement and Networking models into the delivery of NOLB in Glasgow. This will involve testing the models through the following projects:
• the design of the Glasgow Futures website, including a searchable database consisting of employability provision
• the review of the Employer Recruitment Incentive and how it is marketed
• assist in the development of the Partnership Networking Strategy

• Must live within the Glasgow City Council boundary
• Have the right to live and work in the UK
• Be in the year of study specified in the advert
