Lead Estimator

Home based - monthly visit to office

6 month Contract

c.£450-£550 per day

LHH is delighted to be partner with our client, a multinational leader in the utilities sector as they recruit Lead Estimators for their exciting journey towards Carbon zero. Whilst Utilities experience is preferred, candidates with Estimating experience gained in a regulated industry such as Oil and Gas, Defence, Aerospace Water and Construction are invited to apply.

This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and make a significant impact. We are seeking candidates with strong numeracy and commercial experience in developing cost estimates. In addition, you will have gained experience of working closely with strategic sourcing and contract management Procurement teams, producing accurate and high-quality cost estimates and supporting the development and writing of winning bidding and contract strategies.

In this role, you will generate cost estimates for all aspects of construction activities, including Civil, Mechanical, and E&I, and support Procurement Contracting in developing and writing winning bidding and contracting strategies. Accurate recording of the Basis of Estimate and preparation of Bid Approval Slides related to the Construction Estimate will be part of your responsibilities. You will be organised, results-oriented, and able to communicate effectively at all levels. A willingness to learn new skills and knowledge is essential You will also analyse, competitively assess, and benchmark bids, presenting them to the execution team.

To be successful in this role, you should have knowledge of construction and installation techniques and their implications on cost, experience as an Estimator or Quantity Surveyor within regulated industry sectors, and be results-oriented with the ability to understand the impact of decisions and changes on costs
