Full Job Description
Job Title: Planner
Location: Glasgow
Salary: up to £65,000 DoE + Package
Type: Full-time, Permanent
Overview:
We are seeking an organised and detail-oriented Planner to join our civil engineering team. You will play a key role in the successful delivery of projects by creating, maintaining, and updating project schedules and coordinating with project teams to ensure timely delivery across various infrastructure works.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage detailed project programmes using planning software (e.g. Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and Site Teams to ensure accurate planning and reporting.
- Monitor project progress and update schedules to reflect changes and risks.
- Conduct critical path analysis and identify key project milestones.
- Support tender planning and bid submissions.
- Prepare regular reports for internal teams and clients on progress and forecasting.
- Contribute to project review meetings and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a planning role within civil engineering or construction.
- Strong knowledge of planning software, ideally Primavera P6.
- Understanding of construction methods and project delivery phases.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
Desirable:
- HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Experience working on highways, utilities, rail, or infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with NEC contracts and Earned Value Management.
