Full Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Information Analyst to join the National Unscheduled Care (UC) Data Team, part of the Centre for Sustainable Delivery (CfSD) at NHS Golden Jubilee. The National UC Programme facilitates whole system development and delivery of improvement programmes which reflect best practice and support the delivery of the Right Care in the Right Place. The underpinning objective of the programme is to improve the Unscheduled Care experience for patients and staff alike. The UC programme currently consists of 4 portfolios of work:
- Community Urgent Care and Hospital at Home/Virtual Capacity
- Flow Navigation
- Front Door/Emergency Pathways
- Optimising Patient Flow The UC Data Team has recently expanded its remit to include business intelligence support to the Planned Care programme. As a result, an opportunity has arisen to provide direct support to the planned care programme. Whilst this role will primarily focus on servicing Planned Care, the role will operate and be absorbed within the existing UC Data Team structure, allowing us to provide cross-cover across the full workload spanning both UC and Planned Care. The Planned Care programme includes a number of focussed streams of work which include:
- Service/Specialty Capacity Modelling
- Waiting List/Times Modelling
- Performance Review
- National Plans
- National Treatment Centres (NTCs) The role will provide expert information analysis as part of a small information team servicing the broad demands of the Unscheduled Care programme of work. This role will specialise in electronic data handling to include process automation, data mining, electronic data manipulation and dashboard development. A knowledge of R, Power BI, Python, Data Viz or similar to support the handling and automation of large and complex datasets and to design and build user-facing information delivery platforms such as dashboards and interactive portals would be advantageous.
To be successful in this role you will be educated to degree level or able to demonstrate equivalent experience. You must be competent in the use of Microsoft Office packages and have demonstrable experience of working in a programme/ project environment. Experience and knowledge of Improvement methodologies and data for improvement would be advantageous. You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills (both verbal and written) and be able to manage a range of competing priorities while maintaining high levels of quality. You will be well organised and prepared to work autonomously to deliver the range of projects assigned, escalating any issues that may arise to the Head of Data & Analytics or National Improvement Advisor for Data. This role will predominantly include home working, however, there will be some in-person meetings therefore a willingness to travel is essential.
