To lead the strategic development, coordination and operational delivery of all employability programmes within East Ayrshire Council that are funded through UK Shared Prosperity Fund and the Scottish Government’s No-one Left Behind, Tackling Child Poverty funds. The postholder will ensure these programmes are delivered effectively to support local and national priorities, maximise positive outcomes for individuals and contribute to inclusive economic growth. This role involves close collaboration with internal teams, external stakeholders and funding bodies. The duties of this post requires access to the public sector network and therefore the successful applicant must complete a basic Disclosure Scotland application. This is a full time permanent post. The admin base for the post is The Opera House, John Finnie Street, Kilmarnock. The post hours is 35 hours per week and the normal working hours are 9am to 5pm Monday to Thursday (with 50 mins lunch break) and 9am to 4pm on a Friday (with 40 mins lunch break). The workstyle for this post is ‘Flexible’ - 50-79% of time is office based. Able to work at different/ multiple work locations. Occasionally works at home, or another location 1-2 days per week, or directly home to external appointments. It is the expectation that all office-based employees (with the exception of those working in schools) will work to the higher end of their allocated workstyle in terms of time spent in the office or at other work locations. The salary for the post is £58,895 - £63,445 per annum. This is a new post to the Council and will be influential in shaping the new Service. There is an organisational review being carried out which may impact on where the post will sit within the Council structure. If your application is successful at the longleet stage, you will be required to attend an Assessment Centre. Once the date has been confirmed we are unable to change this date. Candidates who are successful in the assessment process will then be invited to a final interview.
