This role is a key part of NATS' Operations Transition Team responsible for leading the ATM Validation Team. This role requires excellent people leadership, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and will influence both internal & external stakeholders. Other duties include:

• Lead the ATM Validation Team, and deliver effective validation activities that meet the aims of the customer and in support of Operations and Programmes
• Ensure all activity outcomes are aligned with business priorities, and supported by evidence and output delivered to time and quality that can withstand both internal and external scrutiny
• Embrace and lead a data led approach across the function and secure additional analytical support as required
• Development of individuals and their skills, including sharing of expertise and knowledge to build a robust learning environment
• Ensure best practice is identified and shared across the team, also implement a programme for continuous improvement and drive towards a way of working that is data evidenced, documented, efficient and effective to ensure consistency and quality
• Deputise for the Head of Operations Transition as appropriate and represent the ATM Validation team in management forums
  
  Educated to degree level, with an extensive background in a Validation, Testing or Verification environment
• Strong communication and leadership skills, able to influence, inspire, and motivate others
• Experience in development and delivery of change programmes and projects
• A good knowledge of the role Validation plays in delivering change, to protect service safety, delivery and to ensure the delivery of benefits
• A proven ability to influence and challenge at all levels
• Understand budgetary management and financial control with a focus on productivity and efficiency
• Able to work with ambiguity and complexity, adapting to varying requirements and flexible in approach to resolving challenges
• Numerate, and comfortable with data, analytics and measurement tools, to ensure continuous improvement and decision making
• Experience within aviation is highly advantageous but not essential, we are happy to consider applications with another sector knowledge
• Experience of the UK regulatory and political environment advantageous
• Previous experience of working successfully with Trade Unions
