If you're ready to take on exciting challenges and contribute to a sustainable energy future, we'd love to hear from you!, As a Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in HV cable design, your role will be diverse and impactful:
- HVAC/HVDC Cable System Design: Dive into all aspects of transmission cable system design, from conceptualization to implementation for Onshore and Offshore projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of HV cables into substations, converter stations, and grid networks.
- Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost analyses for transmission cable system projects.
- Front End Engineering Design (FEED): Be the visionary. Deliver innovative solutions for cable systems integration into major infrastructural development projects.
- Consenting Stage Cable System design. Leading the interface with our civil and environmental teams to plan the delivery of transmission cable systems in line with consenting requirements.
- Tender Stage Design/Detail Design for Transmission cable systems, developing concept stage design through to construction detail level.
- Troubleshoot and resolve transmission cable-related issues during installation and operation/maintenance phases.
- Stay abreast of technological advancements in HV cable materials, insulation, and transmission technologies.Candidate Specification
Essential
Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Experienced transmission cable systems engineer
- Strong analytical skills and able to solve complex engineering problems relating to transmission power cable systems
- A willingness to engage with new challenges as well as an ability to work confidently on tasks for which you have prior experience.
- Ability to demonstrate good written communication skills including report writing.
- Excellent communication and people skills.Desirable
- Masters in Electrical Engineering
- Experience in design of both onshore and offshore transmission cable systems
- Experience in design of HV cable transmission systems for UK and Ireland utilities
