Eden Scott's client has an exciting opportunity which has arisen for an experienced AML Manager to join their team in Edinburgh. Our client is seeking a dedicated professional to play a key role in ensuring the firm's ongoing compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) legislation and guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) and Head of AML to maintain AML compliance across the firm.
- Support the Head of AML in managing the AML Team, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to deadlines.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of AML policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
- Keep up to date with AML legislation and guidance, ensuring effective communication of relevant updates to staff.
- Liaise with the firm's wider risk and compliance functions to maintain a consistent compliance approach.
- Deliver firm-wide and departmental training on AML legislation, policies, and processes.
- Oversee the training and development of AML team members, conducting appraisals and organising necessary training.
- Contribute to recruitment efforts for the AML team when required.
- Ensure effective client and matter risk assessment procedures are in place.
- Support investigations into reports of suspicious activity and assist with required reporting to authorities.
- Monitor Source of Funds and Wealth procedures, ensuring proper tracking of client funds.
Person Specification:
Essential:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a compliance/risk role.
- Proven experience managing, supervising, and supporting a team.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and use initiative.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and leadership skills.
- Experience in process documentation and improvement.
- Commitment to excellent customer service.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Willingness to take responsibility for key decisions.
