Iconic Resourcing is proud to be partnering with a highly regarded professional services firm in their search for a Head of Regulatory Compliance. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced compliance professional to lead and shape the firm’s regulatory framework, compliance strategy, and engagement with key stakeholders.
This firm operates as an Authorised Professional Firm under FCA regulation and is seeking a strategic compliance leader to ensure regulatory excellence, support risk management, and act as a trusted adviser to senior leadership.
The Role
Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, you will lead the Regulatory Compliance team, ensuring that policies, frameworks, and governance structures meet regulatory obligations while enabling commercial success. Acting as a key contact for FCA and IFoA regulatory matters, this role offers the opportunity to influence and embed a strong compliance culture across the organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Regulatory Strategy & Leadership – Own the firm’s regulatory compliance strategy, ensuring it is fit for purpose, commercially viable, and aligned with business objectives.
- Stakeholder Engagement – Act as the primary compliance expert for senior leadership, business units, and external regulators.
- Regulatory Risk & Compliance Monitoring – Oversee the firm’s compliance monitoring plan, proactively managing regulatory risk and advising on FCA/IFoA changes.
- Business Integration – Work closely with Actuarial, Investment, Defined Contribution Consulting, Financial Services, and Third-Party Administration teams to ensure compliance is embedded into core business functions.
- AML & Financial Crime Oversight – Act as Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO), ensuring policies and procedures align with anti-money laundering and financial crime regulations.
- Training & Development – Lead on regulatory training initiatives across the firm, ensuring teams stay ahead of key compliance developments.
- Team Management & Development – Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing regulatory team, ensuring they are seen as trusted advisers within the business.
Who we're looking for
To thrive in this role, you will need:
- Extensive experience in a senior compliance leadership role within an FCA-regulated firm.
- A strong understanding of the FCA Handbook, regulatory perimeter, and financial crime regulations.
- Proven experience in influencing senior leadership teams and embedding a compliance-driven culture.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to advise, challenge, and implement solutions.
- A proactive and strategic mindset, with a track record of driving operational efficiencies and compliance improvements.
- Experience in a professional services, legal, actuarial, or financial services environment would be advantageous.
A relevant professional qualification (e.g., Compliance Diploma) would be desirable but not essential.
What’s on offer?
- A leadership role with significant strategic influence.
- The opportunity to work with a highly respected professional services firm with an excellent reputation.
- A flexible, hybrid working model – offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow, or London.
- Part-time and full-time options available.
