Full Job Description
Interim Financial Accountant job with a large Glasgow based establishment for an initial 9-month period with scope to become permanent.
Reporting directly to the Financial Reporting Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Supporting the production of annual financial statements for the organisation and subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with UK and US GAAP
- Coordinating external audit planning and manage reporting timelines
- Leading accounting for endowment funds and associated investment assets
- Overseeing the fixed asset register, including capitalisation, depreciation, and disposals
- Managing insurance processes including policy renewals, claims, risk mitigation, and stakeholder liaison
- Performing key month-end tasks and balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintaining financial records for subsidiary companies, including preparation for board reporting
- Submitting financial returns to regulatory bodies and responding to finance-related queries
- Supporting continuous improvement of financial reporting processes and contributing to strategic projects
The Individual:
- Fully Qualified Accountant (e.g. ICAS, ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW or equivalent)
- Strong up to date knowledge of the technical accounting environment in the UK
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Knowledge and experience of working in a large organisation is desirable
- Must be available within 4 weeks’ notice
