Hourly rate of pay: £32.36 - £36.42

Days and Hours of Work:
Monday - Thursday, 09:00-17:00
Friday, 09:00-16:00
Flexi time is applicable.

Home / Hybrid Working Consideration

Job Details

To manage and develop the Council’s Housing Options Services in accordance with current legislation, best practice and best value.

To ensure that services are delivered in a way that is socially inclusive and responsible to the needs and aspirations of the East Lothian community.

To participate through departmental, corporate and Community Planning processes in the development and implementation of strategic policy across East Lothian.

To ensure effective and safe management and delivery of best value services within the resources allocated.

To ensure service development and positive service delivery in accordance with key corporate objectives relating to the Council’s corporate plans.

Job Requirements

Relevant Qualifications
Educated to Degree or equivalent in either Housing or in a Social Science and/or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience of working in a Housing environment and a working knowledge of relevant legislation affecting Housing Services.

SSSC registration is an essential requirement of this role. If you are appointed and are not already a member of the relevant section of the SSSC Register, you will be required to apply for registration as soon as possible and this must be achieved within six months of your start date.

Driving Licence
A full current driving licence is desirable for this post.

PVG Membership
This post is considered as a Regulated Role with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020

All preferred candidates for posts carrying out regulated work with these groups will be required to become a PVG Scheme member, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if they are already a member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
