Job Description

To provide a technical support service to the teaching staff under the direction of the Business Manager or Supervisory Technician as appropriate.  This will normally be in the Reprographics and Home Economics department with minor reprographics admin duties. In order that available resources are used in the most effective way, the technical assistant may be required to assist in other areas.

Responsibilities

• Controlling stock and preparing materials for classwork
• Providing reprographics services for the whole school.
• Providing minor reprographics admin services.
• Maintaining equipment in respect of Health & Safety Standards.

The Individual

Experience of organising stock

SQA standard grades or equivalent at level 3 or above in practical subjects

Elementary food hygiene certificate

Ability to prioritise own work load

Flexible approach to work

Proven Communication skills and ability to follow instructions both written and verbal

Self confident and self motivated

A commitment to ensure that appropriate health and safety standards are met

Ability to work to a timetable and organise time to best advantage.

Ability to work both alone and within a team

Ability to record information accurately

Strong communication skills both oral and written

An ability to work and communicate technical issues to all within the school environment

Willingness to accept direction/delegation

Ability to move and handle equipment and materials in conjunction with moving and handling regulations.

Starting Salary: £24,995 (pro rata)
£13.26 per hour
16 hours per week (term time only)
