You will be required to work 6 hours per week (Monday to Friday) over 38 weeks per year. The working hours will be discussed at interview. This post is fixed term for 9 months. This post may be suitable for secondment. Agreement from your line manager must be sought before applying for this post.

Facilities Services (School Meals) are looking for a Cook 1 that can assist the Catering Manager in Sanquhar Academy with general catering tasks associated with the delivery of school meals.

You must be an energetic and enthusiastic person that will carry out the following tasks:
Light food preparation; Setting up and decanting of dining room; Setting up service area; Serve meals; Cash handling as and when required; Dishwashing and General kitchen duties. Clearing down and cleaning kitchens and staff rest areas.

Experience is not necessary as full training will be given if required.

You will also be given Basic Food Hygiene and Allergen Awareness training.

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.  From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
