The Role

The post holder will provide a domestic service to patients, staff and visitors of NHS Lanarkshire, (NHSL) premises through the use of effective and efficient methods, which deliver a safe and welcoming environment and meet the required NHSL and Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI )standards.

What we'll need you to bring

Knowledge of cleaning standards and related procedures.
Required to undertake on-the-job training and induction (this will generally take 4-6 weeks, depending on hours/days worked ), to achieve full competency across a range of duties
Working knowledge of Health & Safety including participation in risk-assessing individual tasks
Undertake NHS Lanarkshire compulsory training
Undertake mandatory Health Care Support Workers (HCSW) standards
Undertake and complete the NHSS Domestic Services Workbook.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively and efficiently in a busy environment
Working knowledge of basic information technology.

Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.

Location and Working Pattern

This role will be based in PSSD Hotel Services within Cleland Hospital
The working pattern for this role is 2.30pm -18.22 hours Saturday Sunday

From 1 April 2024, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change workers in Scotland will be reduced. Full-time hours will reduce from 37.5 to 37 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without loss of earnings.

NHS Lanarkshire will implement this change but it may not be possible to fully transition from 1 April and there may therefore be some areas of the organisation where implementation may take longer. If the department is currently unable to safely accommodate the reduced hours from 1st April, you may be required to work 37.5 hours per week until the department can meet the requirements without impacting patient safety - you will, of course, be remunerated accordingly. NHS Lanarkshire is committed to full implementation of the 37 hour working week across all areas as soon as it is safe to do so.
