Our client is looking to recruit an Employee Relations Advisor on an interim basis. This role is offered on a remote / hybrid basis. You MUST be residing in the West Coast/ Central belt area of Scotland and have a full UK diving licence and access to your own transport.
The role involves supporting the Employee Relations Officer and deputising when required to deliver a high-quality, professional, business-focused Employee Relations service across the business. This includes providing consistent advice through the HR Advice Line and contributing to the development of employee relations policies, procedures, and guidance materials. The position also involves mentoring junior or inexperienced team members, although there are no budgetary responsibilities.
In terms of planning, the role requires supporting team leaders in developing services and service plans, contributing to the design and review of the Employee Relations Advice service, maintaining accurate records for analytics and reports, contributing to change programs, and maintaining good working relationships while respecting confidentiality at all times.
For service delivery, the role involves delivering professional HR services to allocated customer groups, providing advice on employee relations issues such as discipline, grievance, performance management, and more. It also includes managing a caseload of basic employee relations cases, attending interviews and hearings to advise on HR policies, ensuring proper documentation and recording of advice team activities, conducting fact-finding investigations for basic disciplinary cases, and assisting with coaching and mentoring managers on Employee Relations policies. Additionally, the role involves reviewing and developing procedures, guidance, and training materials, conducting research into best practices and benchmarking data, and attending and contributing to relevant meetings and working groups.
Financial responsibilities include approving invoices and expenses in line with guidelines. Performance management and reporting duties involve developing and maintaining performance management reporting systems, maintaining and updating systems with accurate information, gathering customer satisfaction data to support continuous improvement, and producing clear and concise reports and analytics on Employee Relations.
