Location: Fully Remote (Option to work hybrid using Argyll & Bute office if desired)
Contract: 14-Month Daily Rate Contract (Inside IR35)
Rate: 300-350 per day
W&A is pleased to be supporting a well-regarded organisation in the recruitment of a Principal Accountant. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a financial support team, providing key financial planning, governance, and advisory services in a dynamic and complex environment.
The Role:
As Principal Accountant, you will play a crucial role in financial planning, budget management, and performance reporting. You will lead a team, providing high-quality financial advice and support across both capital and revenue budgets. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will ensure financial governance, efficiency improvements, and compliance with regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a financial support team, ensuring high performance and professional development.
- Provide expert financial advice for medium and long-term financial planning.
- Support capital and revenue budget preparation, monitoring, and reporting.
- Assist in financial performance reviews, service efficiencies, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Oversee financial governance, tax management, and corporate finance services.
- Represent the organisation at external meetings and deputise for the Finance Manager when required.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, policies, and procedures.
About You:
To succeed in this role, you will be a proactive and strategic finance professional with strong leadership skills and a background in financial planning within a complex organisation.
- Qualified accountant with post-qualification experience in a senior finance role.
- Proven experience in budget preparation, financial performance monitoring, and reporting.
- Strong ability to provide financial advice to senior managers.
- Experience in staff management, including performance development and team leadership.
- Knowledge of financial governance, treasury management, and tax management.
- Ability to travel between various locations in Argyll Bute as required.
