Full Job Description

IT Support Analyst (1st & 2nd Line) – Automation & Growth Focus
Glasgow (Hybrid – 2 Days in Office)
Full Time | Permanent

Iconic Resourcing is delighted to be partnering with a forward-thinking organisation to recruit an IT Support Analyst (1st & 2nd Line) into their growing technology team. With the business actively evolving its IT service model to embrace automation, AI and proactive support, this is an ideal opportunity for a hands-on and service-focused IT professional ready to grow with the change.

You’ll be working as part of a close-knit service desk, supporting users across the UK and globally. The role blends technical support with continuous improvement, offering plenty of scope to take ownership and contribute to innovation across the department.

About the Role:

As one of the IT support team members, you’ll provide both 1st and 2nd line support across a busy, professional user base. You’ll manage tickets, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, support Microsoft 365 platforms, and help shape a best-in-class internal IT service.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for IT issues via phone, email and ticketing system
  • Providing 1st/2nd line support for devices, systems, and applications
  • Administering Microsoft 365, Windows 10/11 and other platforms
  • Setting up and maintaining laptops, mobile phones, and other endpoints
  • Supporting user onboarding/offboarding and access permissions
  • Helping develop and maintain knowledge base content and user self-service tools
  • Identifying and supporting opportunities for automation and AI within the service desk
  • Taking ownership of small improvement projects and contributing to wider tech initiatives

The team operates within a full Microsoft environment and is gradually phasing out legacy systems with a move toward partner-built and automated solutions.

About You:

We’re looking for a positive, proactive IT professional who enjoys supporting others and wants to contribute to a team that’s on a journey of change.

You’ll be a great fit if you have:

  • Previous experience in a 1st and/or 2nd line IT support role
  • Confidence troubleshooting hardware and software issues
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint
  • A positive mindset with a passion for helping others
  • An interest in process improvement, AI and automation (no technical knowledge required – just curiosity)
  • A calm, methodical approach with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks

The team values a service-first attitude, strong communication, and a genuine desire to support internal users with empathy and consistency.

 Working Pattern & Benefits:

  • Hybrid working: 2 days per week in Glasgow office (typically mid-week)
  • Flexible hours between 7am–6pm
  • 28 days holiday + 5 fixed public holidays
  • Private healthcare, enhanced pension contributions
  • Structured AI and automation training planned for the new fiscal year
  • Supportive, collaborative team culture

If you’re looking to grow your IT career within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment — with real exposure to emerging tech - we’d love to hear from you.

Please note: Candidates must be based in or near Glasgow and have full right to work in the UK. Unfortunately, sponsorship or relocation is not available for this role.
