An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Projects team in Legal and Corporate Governance. We are seeking a dynamic, engaging and dedicated professional to become part of our multidisciplinary legal team providing Projects advice to Council departments, Scotland Excel and the Clyde Valley Residual Waste Project. You will be part of a successful and motivated team working in a dynamic and fast paced environment delivering projects such as the City Deal and the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation District Scotland projects, the new Paisley Grammar School Community Campus, and a number of projects designed to regenerate Renfrewshire. The post will have a property focus but will provide opportunities to gain experience in other areas of projects work such as projects, construction, planning and procurement. Projects work is by its nature flexible and exciting with opportunities to become involved in a wide range of law and is excellent for developing expertise and knowledge in a number of areas.
You must hold, or be eligible to hold, a current Practicing Certificate from Law Society of Scotland, LLB & Diploma in Legal Practice, be able to carry out a range of tasks within a broad property-based remit and manage a demanding workload with minimum supervision. It is also essential that you have effective interpersonal, communication and report writing skills, together with the ability to work as part of a team.
Experience in conveyancing and property law is essential, experience and knowledge of other areas of law in particular, projects and construction would be beneficial but not essential.
Please note that this post is temporary, subject to business needs and funding for 1 Year or until the requirement for the post ceases, whichever date is the earlier.
For an informal discussion about the role contact Lesley Currie on 0141 487 1121 or email lesleyann.currie@renfrewshire.gov.uk.
If successful, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure Scotland check, the level of check will be determined by the duties of the post. If you would like further information in relation to the Disclosure Scotland checks, please visit www.disclosurescotland.co.uk.
