Post Title: Solicitor
Location: Headquarters, Inverness
Hours: 35 hours per week
Duration: Permanent
Salary: £47,847 - £52,325 p.a.
Salary placing will normally be at the first point of the scale.

We are looking for a talented, adaptable, and enthusiastic Solicitor with a passion for public service to join our busy, committed to delivering the highest quality legal services and advice to the Council.
Our supportive team environment will help you develop and gain valuable experience in local authority operations while handling a variety of interesting and challenging cases. You will provide representation and advice on litigation matters across the council, specifically focusing on the administration of council tax, non-domestic rates, and sundry debt for the Revenues Service.
Whether you are an experienced civil litigation Solicitor or newly qualified, you will receive full support and training to apply your existing knowledge and develop new skills. The Highland Council offers a competitive salary and excellent employee benefits.

Job Purpose: To be a member of the team at HQ responsible for the Council’s Legal Services work relating to litigation and advice for the Revenues and Corporate Resources Service.

Requirements
Scottish LLB law degree or equivalent Scottish qualification.
Diploma in Legal Practice.
Current Practising Certificate (unrestricted) from the Law Society of Sc
