Full Job Description

The Children’s Hearings System provides the operational setting in which SCRA and our partner agencies work. The aim is to provide a safety net for vulnerable children and deliver tailored solutions which meet the needs of the individuals involved, while helping to build stronger families and safer communities.

Working at the heart of our unique care and justice system for children, you will undertake with care and creativity the responsibility for an assigned caseload. Assessing referrals, supporting the hearings process, preparing and conducting relevant proceedings in court as well as working closely with partner agencies, you will provide an excellent service that ensures the care and supervision needs of vulnerable children are met.

Qualified to degree level or equivalent in social work, law or another relevant discipline, you will bring at least two years’ experience in a similar environment. You will also be IT literate with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Candidates will be expected to use digital technology to deliver virtual hearings using our secure virtual platform (training will be provided), as well as utilising digital technology within SCRA’s Hearings suites.

Applications for this post must be made through SCRA’s website where you will find details of all current vacancies.

Scottish Childrens Reporters Administrations

View full company profile
The Children’s Hearings System in Scotland aims to provide a safety net for vulnerable children and young people, and to work with partner agencies who deliver tailored solutions which meet the needs of the individuals involved and help to build stronger families and safer communities. In Scotland, children and young people who face serious problems in their lives can sometimes be asked to go to a meeting called a Children’s Hearing. Children’s Hearings make decisions in the best interest of the child or young person to help and protect them.
