Full Job Description

Geovation Scotland requires a Startup Community Engagement Manager to play an integral role in building the culture and community of Geovation Scotland. Working with our sponsors Registers of Scotland and Ordnance Survey, as well as a broad range of external partners, you'll play a key role in identifying and supporting the next generation of disruptive land, property and location tech startups. You'll have relevant experience in an enterprise support environment working with key stakeholders, a passion for working with start and scaleups and will follow the Scottish tech startup scene. The role will require excellent communication skills and a willingness to understand the requirements of our key stakeholders and needs of our tech community and alumni. The role will identify new opportunities for collaboration and growth and will also support the successful delivery of our accelerator programme. This role will work in conjunction with the Geovation Scotland and London delivery teams and Business Development and Communications teams within RoS. Some travel may be required.,

  • To be a first point of contact for community members, Enterprises-in-Residence and Geovation Scotland alumni.
  • To grow and maintain a national network of contacts working within the entrepreneurial ecosystem, including tech startups, investors, incubators, accelerators and public and private sector supporters.
  • To identify and maximise opportunities for collaboration, innovation and community growth through network of contacts and additional services
  • To pro-actively seek out strong candidates for Geovation Scotland membership, Enterprise-in-Residence status and support.
  • To manage the strategic planning, delivery and evaluation of all community and alumni engagement activity.
  • To identify opportunities to partner and collaborate with private and public sector organisations for wider benefit
  • To continuously monitor and improve our community and alumni offering to deliver the best outcomes for startups and our stakeholders/sponsors
  • To ensure that all relevant engagement and satisfaction level data is captured.
  • To manage relationship agreements with Geovation Scotland Enterprises-in Residence
  • To communicate Geovation Scotland's mission, purpose and its 'open innovation' philosophy with internal and external stakeholders through all available channels (eg: newsletters, social media, events etc).
  • To generate content for publication through Geovation Scotland engagement channels (e.g. LinkedIn, website, newsletter, blogs etc).
  • To represent Geovation Scotland and RoS at local and national events and meetings.
  • Help to foster and create collaborative relationships to maximise ROI in Geovation, e.g.in the use of hub space, promotion of Geovation start-ups etc.
  • To identify opportunities to share external perspectives/skills within RoS for wider benefit.
  • To work with the Geovation and RoS events teams on the planning and organisation of community and alumni events., We reserve the right to invite candidates to participate in a telephone interview prior to being further assessed.

  • Proven ability to foster strong partnerships, with extensive experience in building and managing connections with external stakeholders to drive collaboration and success
  • Network connections - the ability to connect businesses with the wider Scottish business/tech ecosystem
  • Excellent communication & copyrighting skills for different engagement channels (including events, LinkedIn, newsletters, blogs etc)
  • Experience of creating and managing tech startup & community events
  • Exceptional organisational skills, complemented by a keen eye for detail, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in all tasks
  • Skilled in managing and prioritising demanding workloads, with strong time management abilities to ensure efficiency, focus, and timely delivery of tasks
  • Experience in brand management, reputation building, stakeholder communication and ensuring consistent messaging across all platforms and audiences.
