The Scheme Specialist will also be responsible for managing, coordinating and supporting the delivery of the BBC's work taster programme, Get In. The work of the Outreach Scheme Specialist is centred on highlighting the BBC's apprenticeship opportunities and establishing the organisation as a positive career destination choice for anyone wanting to start a career in the media, irrespective of background, in particular, talent from under, or poorly, represented communities. The role also requires the management of initiatives and interventions in the wider preemployment space. Main Responsibilities

- Strategic development of a varied and comprehensive early careers outreach programme which aligns and reflects the BBC's commitments to developing and retaining new talent.
- Coordinate and manage the 'Get In' work insight programme.
- Work, and network, at grass roots level, as well as with relevant organisations and groups, to establish and improve understanding of the BBC brand and a potential employer of choice.
- Maintain relationships and build new connections with key stakeholders internally, as well as with external stakeholders, organisations, communities and the wider apprenticeship/early careers arena.
- Attend outreach events and represent the BBC's apprenticeship opportunities to external and internal stakeholders and related parties.
- Evaluate data and provide feedback on efficacy of outreach strategy to inform future activity.
- Work with the Talent Acquisition team to develop and implement an attraction to conversion tracking process.
- Manage budgets efficiently and effectively. Are you the right candidate The successful candidate will be someone who is passionate about finding new, diverse talent for the BBC and ensuring that our workforce is the most diverse and inclusive space it can be. Bringing new voices and new thinking, from all walks of life, and finding people with the potential to thrive in the BBC, is what motivates and inspires you. You will be someone who loves developing fresh, engaging ideas on how to connect with new talent and audiences.
- Strong appreciation of the challenges in attracting people, especially young people, to consider the BBC as a future employer.
- Understanding the specific challenges facing people who are new to the world of work, or those returning to study.
- Knowledge and/or experience of working with underrepresented or disadvantaged groups.
- Experience of delivering talent attraction activity which resonates with diverse young talent.
- Understanding of the potential challenges in positively establishing the BBC as a brand, especially to younger and underrepresented demographics.
- A confident and effective communicator, verbally and in writing, with proven ability to work across boundaries and break down barriers.
- Confidence to represent the BBC externally and work with external stakeholders.
- Ability to represent the work of the Apprenticeships Team to internal stakeholders and partners.
- You will have excellent contacts already, as well as the skills to make new contacts and networks.
- Knowledge/experience of maintaining records and interrogating data to inform future interventions and initiatives.
- Appreciation of the BBC's targets for growing its apprentice and new talent numbers and also in meeting its targets across all areas of diversity.
- Collaborating with BBC Talent Acquisition colleagues with regard to talent attraction and initiatives, recruitment and assessment.

- Understanding of the BBC's workforce needs and the latest developments in industry thinking/practice in relation to developing new talent
- Ability to create content and assets that can be used across a range of outreach activity and outlets e.g. short films, social media content, presentations
- Event management/presentational skills
The BBC is committed to redeploying employees seeking suitable alternative employment within the BBC for different reasons and they will be given priority consideration ahead of other applicants. Priority consideration means for those employees seeking redeployment their application will be considered alongside anyone else at risk of redundancy, prior to any individuals being considered who are not at risk. We don't focus simply on what we do - we also care how we do it. Our values and the way we behave are important to us. Please make sure you've read about our values and behaviours here. Diversity matters at the BBC. We have a working environment where we value and respect every individual's unique contribution, enabling all of our employees to thrive and achieve their full potential. We want to attract the broadest range of talented people to be part of the BBC - whether that's to contribute to our programming or our wide range of non-production roles. The more diverse our workforce, the better able we are to respond to and reflect our audiences in all their diversity. We are committed to equality of opportunity and welcome applications from individuals, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, socio-economic background, religion and/or belief. We will consider flexible working requests for all roles, unless operational requirements prevent otherwise.
Excellent career progression - the BBC offers great opportunities for employees to seek new challenges and work in different areas of the organisation. Unrivalled training and development opportunities - our in-house Academy hosts a wide range of internal and external courses and certification. Benefits - We offer a negotiable salary package, a flexible 35-hour working week for work-life balance and 25 days annual leave with the option to buy an extra 5 days, a defined pension scheme and discounted dental, health care and gym.
