Dumfries and Galloway Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) is undergoing a period of transformative change to develop multi disciplinary integrated teams.

The Home Teams will deliver person centred care with the promotion of independence at the core of service delivery.

We are looking to welcome enthusiastic registered Occupational therapists with a keen interest in working within an adult community health setting.

We welcome applications from experienced Band 5 ready to complete Annex 21 Band 6 development post (to be completed within 12 months).

The focus for this post is provision of occupational therapy assessment and interventions to help maximise client function and independence, focussing predominantly on proactive and preventative interventions.

You will be expected to expertly manage a caseload to provide a full service of assessment, appropriate management, onward referral and discharge to a range of patients referred to the service. You will work within multi-professional teams to ensure co-ordinated care for patients. There is a focus on utilising professional skills to deliver rehabilitation and enablement.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week for NHS Agenda for Change workers in Scotland from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period, for which you would be paid, until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
