Full Job Description
The post will involve ascertaining, consenting, testing, and managing research patients. Previous clinical research experience, training, and skills in consenting and venepuncture is essential. A background in pain research or in pain clinics would be beneficial as would experience of wearable devices and sensory/pain testing, however, further training can be offered to the right candidate.
Excellent communication and organisation skills are required as the successful applicant will be expected to liaise with participants, collaborators and other healthcare professionals and research teams across the country. Applicants should have experience of autonomously managing their own workload and a willingness to work well as part of a multidisciplinary team. Having an adaptable and flexible approach to working hours and duties is desirable as the requirements of this position are varied.
Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service check (enhanced with children and adults' barred lists). This appointment also requires NMC Registration, a Research Passport application and an Honorary Clinical Contract. Any offer of employment we make to you will be conditional upon the satisfactory completion of these checks, whether an outcome is satisfactory will be determined by the University. Applicants must be a Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
The funds for these posts are available until 30th June 2026.
