Full Job Description
- To work in conjunction with an integrated maintenance team, responsible for planning and execution of Production based work scopes. All work to be carried out in a safe, timely and quality manner to maximise plant and equipment availability, maintain asset integrity and achieve business objectives.
- Ensure all work undertaken is safe, and in compliance and accordance with statutory Health and Safety procedures, maintenance manuals, specific work instructions, safe systems of work (Control of Work/Permit to Work) and all recommended safe working practices.
- Actively participate in thorough pre-job risk assessments for all non-routine activities and confirm that they are accurately reflected in the resultant Permit to Work.
- Actively participate in any pre-job site inspections/toolbox talks for maintenance activities.
- Participation in IRIS and carry out safety tours, as required.
- Ensure all required personal protective equipment (PPE) is appropriately used.
- Ensure all work party members, especially third-party personnel, fully understand the purpose of, and can use, required emergency response equipment.
- Ensure all personnel in proximity of works are fully aware of planned works, associated risks and control/mitigation measures in place.
- Ensure compliance with established clean workplace practices.
- Ensure all accidents, incidents, near misses and non-conformances are fully reported.
- Under direction, undertake routine inspection, servicing and adjustment of equipment.
- Under direction, support performance and condition monitoring and assessment.
- Review maintenance work orders and ensure all requirements/preparations are fully undertaken before commencement of works.
- Communicate with operations personnel for start-up and shutdown of relevant equipment.
- Maintain safety critical equipment in accordance with regulations.
- Perform the role of Production Technician as required on BP platforms.
- Ensure equipment and systems are reinstated to required condition and performance.
- Support diagnostic activities and analysis to rectify faults.
- Report all work completed in CMMS (Backbone).
- Respond to 'out of hours' call-outs, as requested.
- Responsible for management and completion of competency prolife (CMS).
- Carry out adjustments to process facilities under the direction of the Shift Supervisor or CRO.
- Operate and control the external process and Utility facilities in a safe and efficient manner, thereby ensuring the continuous production of oil and gas.
- Identify and report to the Control Room any plant/equipment malfunction that could deteriorate into a major incident.
- Ensure that the plant operation meets contractual specifications.
- Gather and collect data for the Process and Utility equipment and identify actions to be taken to minimise equipment and machinery failure.
- Recover plant from any emergency shutdown and minimise loss of production, whilst adhering to operating procedures.
- Implement shutdown, isolation, depressurising and cleaning of equipment required for maintenance, purging and de-isolating ensuring all work permits have been cleared before bringing back on line.
- Assist maintenance technicians as required.
- Complete pre-start-up/operating checks, ensuring all interdependent systems are available and bring into line any system under the direction of the SMS. Completes post start-up/operating checks to ensure normal operating conditions.
Recognised trade qualification. - Appropriate vocational qualifications or certification in process maintenance and operation.
- Previous experience in the oil and gas/petrochemical industry in a similar or equivalent role.
- Experience and competence in the following areas:
- Identifying actions required to avert the possibility of a major incident occurring due to the process or external environment.
- Front line maintenance such as filter changes, pressure/temperature gauges replacement etc.
- Knowledge of lab duties, procedures and basic oil and gas analysis.
- Good awareness of work planning and scheduling
- Familiarity of CMMS - Maximo or equivalent work management system..
- Good understanding of process safety rules and regulations.
- Performing Authority (Permit to Work system).
- Previous Isolating Authority experience.
- First Aid training (including CPR).
- Good awareness of safe Working At Height practices.
- Respected, contributory team member able to establish rapport with others.
- Good communicator, accurately relates information, uses active listening to ensure own understanding and is comfortable with written, spoken or electronic media.
- Actively demonstrates commitment to higher performance standards.
- Understands own roles and importance of working to objectives and standards.

- Understands the importance of compliance and impact of non-conformance.
- Has good problem solving skills, corrective action planning and follow-up.
