Full Job Description
You will be joining a fast paced, highly skilled and welcoming team. The team has many years of experience which is also backed by one of a kind applications engineering team. The team is fully concentrated on delivering quality of service to the client from the very beginning to ensure a seamless transition from engineering to execution. Partner with the best Responsible for delivering project engineering services whilst maintaining full compliance to the Global Engineering standards. Liaise with Operations Manager and Project Manager's to balance work loading to meet client agreed deadlines. Development of engineers through mentoring the Totara career program and supporting the Operations team where required. The role will be based in Aberdeen, but responsibility will involve Great Yarmouth engineering support as well and has the potential for visits. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Completing all PPS related procedures to company global standards.
- Having a strong understanding on Nitrogen/helium procedure writing.
- Supporting Project account manager and be focal point of small and medium size projects.
- Supporting UK sales team with the development of profitable service offering within the oil and gas industry.
- Reporting any possible opportunities that may result in obtaining additional work and revenue for the Company.
- Participating in the on-call rota.
- Considering all aspects of their service line and recommend best practices for implementation within the P&M department and implement those best practices via procedures, training and other forms of communication.
- Recommending items for capital purchase and assess, implement and or request appropriate actions to the UK Operations Manager and will provide technical input to commercial documents.
- Ensuring that the engineering is delivered in a timely manner and that the engineering days are not exceeded without a just reason.
- Completing daily engineering sheet at the end of each week.
- Participating with allocated information in departmental meetings.
- Developing and maintain close working relationship with Application Engineering.
- Ensuring all BHI policies and standard operating procedures are adhered to.
- Ensuring personal competencies are kept up to date.
- Providing WPA support for Engineering competency signoff.
- Reviewing site visits with the Project Manager's to ensure accuracy of the information.
- Working independently under general supervision, requiring normal guidance and review.
- Providing technical guidance and work direction to Field Engineers.
- Ensuring time keeping is in line with Baker Hughes Policy
- Forecasting resources required and advise Project Managers of requirements well ahead of when the resources are required.
- Assisting operations for holiday cover or cover due to absenteeism.
Have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (preferred) or HND with relevant work experience in engineering or related field. - Have the ability to demonstrable ability to carry out Engineering scopes for both Process and Pipelines.
- Have an understanding of Process and Pipeline in an operational area or district.
- Have thorough understanding of customer requirements and procedures.
- Have previous experience in Nitrogen/helium procedure writing.
- Have thorough understanding of processes and procedures of the operating area.
- Having knowledge of Oracle is advantageous.
- Have the ability to interact with staff and contractors.
- Have the ability to interact with clients.
- Being competent in the use of MS office, Bluebeam and Centrum applications.
- Have UKNS offshore survival and valid medical and any other required training.
- Hold a UK passport/work permit and not require future sponsorship
