Environmental & Sustainable Travel Lead
Harvey Nash is delighted to be supporting the search for an interim Environmental & Sustainable Travel Lead to join a public sector organisation committed to improving sustainability and environmental performance across Scotland's rail network.
This role will lead the development and delivery of strategy across climate adaptation, carbon reduction, and sustainable travel initiatives. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders and operating companies to monitor environmental KPIs and ensure compliance with grant conditions, while helping shape long-term sustainability policy.
Key responsibilities include assessing climate-related risks, overseeing active and integrated travel plans, and engaging with government and industry stakeholders. A core part of the role will involve ensuring readiness for environmental reporting in line with government-mandated climate disclosure requirements (such as those related to climate governance, risk, and carbon targets).
We're seeking a candidate with a strong background in sustainable transport or environmental strategy, excellent stakeholder engagement skills, and a passion for delivering measurable climate impact in a public sector setting.
