Full Job Description
The project is implementing a holistic approach to sustainability that encompasses people, communities, the environment and a fair contribution to society.
We currently have an opportunity for a Project focused Sustainability Advisor to join the team and play a key role in the development and delivery of our sustainability ambitions.
These mega projects are fast paced and dynamic. As such you need to be a resourceful self-starter and solution focused whilst being given overall direction and space to deliver with periodic check ins.
You will
- Build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve our sustainability goals, supporting the Sustainability Manager in communicating our sustainability ambition in a way that is meaningful.
- Provide support in the development of employer's standards for procurement, pre-qualification, invitation to tender and associated assessments. This includes deliverables, project risk registers and KPI development.
- Provide technical reviews of EGL Contracting Partners sustainability and related documentation and act a s a key reviewer for sustainability innovation fund submissions.
- Develop approaches, tools and systems to enable measurement of our sustainability performance and ensure sustainability reporting requirements are met in an efficient manner, advising project leadership on sustainability goals, opportunities and performance.
- Establish strong relationships with key stakeholders, particularly EGL Contracting Partners, organising and facilitating workshops to ensure they deliver against their sustainability requirements. This includes the BREEAM infrastructure rating for the project.
An in-depth understanding of a variety of sustainability topics including carbon, circular economy, biodiversity net gain, natural capital and social value, particularly in relation to infrastructure.
- A relevant degree qualification (BSc) in an environmental or sustainability-related subject or have relevant business experience and knowledge in the analytical and organisational techniques for sustainability performance management, including data gathering and reporting.
- Experience of implementing sustainability practices in the energy, utility or construction sector and a working knowledge of relevant regulatory and best practice frameworks. This would include experience of going "beyond compliance" to deliver sustainable benefits.
- Demonstrable knowledge and implementation of sustainability frameworks and practices across projects including BREEAM framework and PAS 2080.
- Strong networking and engagement capabilities across a diversity of internal and external stakeholders in many fields.

Salary: £40,600 - £61,000 + car/car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.
