Full Job Description
An excellent opportunity has arisen within our Housing Service where you will work as a Modern Apprentice Floorlayer within the Construction Trades visiting tenants' premises to carry out repairs as well as working on capital investment sites, e.g. new build, kitchen refurbishments, bathroom refurbishments as well as adaptations. You will learn how to work to all the various Council Standards including Health & Safety and Customer Service and carry out other duties as required for the Service. As a Modern Apprentice, you will work towards the Floorcovering Modern Apprenticeship SCQF Level 6 and be willing to undertake any other training relevant to the role. You will be 16-19 years old (or a 2025 official summer leaver) and be able to demonstrate an enthusiasm this role and a commitment to learn. The training for this post is only delivered by the CITB National Construction College, near Paisley/ Glasgow airport and you must be willing to travel on a block release pattern.
