Full Job Description

The Research Assistant will be provided with working space and will be considered an integral part of the research environment within the department. However, there is flexibility for remote working. They will receive mentorship from the members of the project team. For MRes and MSc students, the position offer a pathway to doctoral studies through direct engagement in research and personal mentorship from senior academic staff. They also serve as an attractive steppingstone for other careers., We will begin reviewing applications on a rolling basis with start earliest in April 2025. The position could be filled before the last day of application has passed. The application should include a CV, a record of courses taken and grades, the most advanced academic report you have written, a short letter of motivation and capability, and the names (+contact information) of two references.

We are recruiting a Research Assistant/Pre-Doc with a background in computer science/quantitative finance/computational economics to support our British Academy-Leverhulme Trust funded project in the field of finance. The project team includes Dr. Chenchen Huang (University of Bath, School of Management), Prof. Neslihan Özkan (University of Bristol Business School), and Prof. Swarnodeep Homroy (University of Groningen and University of Southampton)., We are looking for Postgraduate Research students (PhDs, MRes, MSc) in Computer Science/Quantitative Finance/Computational Economics with strong programming skills in Python and expertise in Machine Learning (NLP, BERT, LLM, etc.).
