Full Job Description
We are looking for an experienced, knowledgeable and confident data protection professional to join Barnardo's Safeguarding and Compliance Team as the Data Protection Manager for Children's Services. With the support of a small team, they will manage the data protection function within Barnardo's Children's Services, covering all four U.K. nations. They will work closely with the Assistant Director Children's Services, Information Governance and Compliance, the Corporate Information Governance Team and colleagues and teams at all levels of Barnardo's Children's Services and the wider organisation, to oversee compliance with data protection legislation, policy and standards and guide the ongoing improvement of data protection practice within Barnardo's Children's Services. As well as providing specialist advice, support and guidance they will manage the response to data protection incidents within Children's Services and monitor themes and trends to identify and implement improvement opportunities. We are looking for someone who will take a supportive and enabling approach to providing subject matter expertise on all elements of data protection to help ensure the data of children and families is safely managed.
