Drivers Preferred - Please note that due to the location of service drivers are preferred for this role due to there being limited public transport and routes none being available during shift times.
Real Life Options is a registered charity currently going through a period of growth, and we are continuing to search for permanent contracted Support Workers who really want to make an impact on the lives of the people we support.
We have a strong emphasis on centred care so it is important you promote the individual's goals, choices and independence. At our Inverurie service we support individuals with day to day living tasks including: medication, meal preparation, personal care and domestic assistance. A crucial part of the role will be supporting with social activities such as attending parties, bingo and dances.
There can be challenging behaviour involved, any candidate that applied should have previous experience with challenging behaviour and how to manage this, such as de-escalation training and/or experience with Positive Behaviour Support Plans. There will be extensive challenging behaviour training in place for successful candidates. The service is staffed at a 3:1 ratio so there are always 3 staff on at any one time.
Shifts
There are many different shifts available however the most common are: 7.30am-3pm, 3pm-10pm and 12pm-9pm. Our service also requires sleepover shifts - these are paid hourly. We also work on a one weekend on one weekend off basis.
As the service needs can be very variable due to supporting many individuals with differing needs, any successful applicant would need to have a level of flexibility around working hours.
An Enhanced Adult PVG is required for this role.
