11781 - Stores Officer

We are seeking a reliable individual, with honest work ethic to join the Stores Team to deliver a high class, customer focused stores service in our stores at Kings Buildings Campus. Common tasks will for the role will be, receiving goods on our ERP systems, locating goods in relevant stores location, picking orders, supporting the delivery of the item(s) to customers and assisting with courier parcels. You will be expected to provide excellent customer service to users of the stores including students, staff, academic and research community, whilst using relevant University systems and processes. You will have a good knowledge of Health and safety procedures and adhere to them in your day-to-day role.

The vacancy at the Kings Building Campus of Edinburgh University is an attractive opportunity for the successful applicant to work for one of the world's top 20 Universities. The successful candidate will work as part of a team of stores officers on campus across 4 stores servicing multiple buildings. You will report to the Stores Leader for the Campus, and will be part of a stores community across the University, consisting of over 25 members of staff. As part of a team, the successful applicant must be flexible and able to work at all of the stores locations on campus as required.

Ability to follow procedures and policies.
Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
Good written, IT, numeracy and oral communication skills and attention to detail.
Ability to assess, apply initiative and know when to escalate issues to senior colleagues if unable to resolve day-to-day problems which may arise.
Understanding of relevant Health and Safety legislation and compliance requirements.
Provide excellent customer service
Use problem solving skills effectively to solve queries.
