Full Job Description
Morgan Hunt is representing a well known Public Sector organisation in Glasgow seeking an experienced Procurement Officer.
The successful candidate will play a key role in strategic sourcing and commercial management of IT contracts, driving cost efficiency's through best procurement practices. This end-to-end role offers full ownership and autonomy, making it ideal for a proactive, forward-thinking individual with a can-do attitude.
Key responsibilities:
- Engage with stakeholders, guiding on current legislation and internal
- Prepare tender documentation, including selection and award criteria, and support contract award decisions in compliance with legal and procurement guidance
- Conduct market research and early market engagement to develop contract strategies, considering factors such as risk, market trends, industry pricing, and supplier positioning
- Manage assigned contracts, oversee supplier performance reviews, and lead contract management meetings
Skills and experience required:
- Public Sector Procurement experience is desired
- Strong relationship building skills
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Analytical mind set and ability to solve problems
