This post is fixed term until 31st December 2026.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Finance and Budgeting team for an enthusiastic accountant to join our team. Specific duties will include:
• Budget preparation and monitoring for Council services in consultation with service managers and Finance Business Partners.
• Supporting managers throughout the Council to manage the financial resources as efficiently as possible, and providing appropriate financial advice and guidance to support service delivery. Including the provision of additional financial information as required;
• Finance project related work commensurate with the post grading;
• Assisting in the production of the statutory financial statements and supporting; documentation and responding to external audit requests;
• Completion of external returns;
• Any other ad-hoc duties commensurate with the post grading. You will be a CCAB qualified accountant or equivalent with knowledge of local authorites desirable. You should have experience of finance systems and be proficient in the use of Microsoft packages. The role requires extensive use of excel skills to analyse, manipulate and present data on an ongoing basis.

Requirements
