Rockstar North is seeking an ambitious, self-motivated individual to work as a Dialogue Data Developer. This is a technical role situated within the wider Writing team. This is a full-time, permanent and in-office position based in Rockstar's state-of-the-art game development studio in Edinburgh, Scotland. WHAT WE DO
- Dialogue Data Development are responsible for the set up and upkeep of dialogue data within our in-house dialogue data tooling - applying knowledge and expertise to ensure technical requirements are met.
- We collaborate with various departments, such as audio and design, to discuss processes for dialogue implementation and ensure data and tooling matches these expectations. This includes overseeing the upkeep and development of our in-house software.
- We take ownership of dialogue subtitling to ensure it is accurate and displays correctly and in accordance with our standards., Accurate and efficient input of dialogue-related data through our in-house software. This involves more traditional transcription methods - i.e. transcribing dialogue subtitles from various audio sources - as well as setting up more technical data settings.
- Understanding the implementation needs of various dialogue types and adapting the data and set up to match these appropriately.
- Maintaining dialogue data and providing adjustments and fixes to this as necessary.
- An awareness of the wider Dialogue team's processes in order to ensure issues are correctly raised to the wider Dialogue team where appropriate.
- Flagging and fixing technical issues during the dialogue preparation stage.
- Timing subtitles to audio using our in-house software.
Technically minded individual, with experience in learning and using varied software and/or with complex data entry. - Good broad PC knowledge, including experience with Microsoft Office suites., Meticulous, a keen eye for detail when it comes to processing large quantities of data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organised and able to follow detailed instruction.
- Able to work well within a tight knit team, and comfortable with solo work.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and time constraints., Experience in a support role within a software development team would be beneficial.
