Full Job Description

A secondment opportunity has arisen for an experienced, dynamic, motivated and enthusiastic Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to join the Nairn, Aviemore Badenoch and Strathspey Community Mental Health team. The CMHT is part of the secondary services providing assessment and treatment packages for a range of service users aged between 18-65 years with complex mental health needs. This post is based in Nairn.

The post holder will maintain a clinical case load and will work effectively in the multidisciplinary team to provide mental health assessments, treatment packages, group work and manage risk. This work will involve patients and their carers in the delivery of evidence based, recovery focused interventions. You will need to demonstrate enthusiasm and a commitment to high quality work as well as processing therapeutic and interpersonal skills. You should demonstrate a good standard of verbal and written communication skills. The post holder will work autonomously as well as within the MDT and other settings. You will provide advice to healthcare professionals, other agencies, carers, clients and relatives.

A Registered Mental Health Nurse qualification currently featuring on the Nursing and Midwifery Council register is required and supervision will be provided by the team lead. A driving license is essential, and a pool car may be available, however applicants should have access to their own vehicle for work purposes.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
