Full Job Description

Are you passionate about youth development and outdoor education? Do you have experience in coaching or leading groups? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Officer. As a DofE Officer, you will be responsible for the development, delivery, and support of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award programme across multiple sites, including Doncaster, North Lindsey College, and the HESTA site in Hull. Scope and Purpose:

  • Promote participation in the DofE programme, particularly among key groups.
  • Support the setup, authorisation, and management of DofE groups.
  • Deliver high-quality programmes and training for DofE participants.
  • Ensure compliance with the policies and procedures of the licensed organisation.
  • Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Maintain up-to-date records of participant numbers, awards achieved, and any arising issues.
  • Assist the DofE Manager with complaints and queries.
  • Celebrate participant achievements regularly.
  • Support expedition teams with planning and training.
  • Encourage and assist students in using eDofE to upload evidence.
  • Contribute to the annual development plan and promote the DofE within the local community.
  • Handle routine decisions related to training outcomes, expedition planning, and equipment needs.

    A Levels/Level 3 qualifications.
  • GCSE Maths and English grade C/4 or above.
  • Previous experience in coaching or leading groups.
  • Knowledge of the DofE awards and outdoor activities.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and IT skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and under pressure.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
  • Desirable Criteria:
  • NVQ 2 or equivalent qualification in Sports, Coaching, or Outdoor Leadership.
  • IT qualification.
  • The role requires a valid driving licence to facilitate travel between multiple sites and ensure the safe and efficient transportation of equipment and participants.

  • Applicants must be authorised to work in the UK. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time. £21,274 to £21,818 per annum
