An opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Technician (Electrician core trade) to join our Property & Facilities Department at Edinburgh Napier University on a permanent basis. The Property & Facilities Department delivers an excellent customer experience to over 1,500 staff and nearly 19,000 students. The Department's focus is on managing the University's key facilities, including Estates and Buildings, Energy and Sustainability, Security, Cleaning, Logistics, Print and Document Services, Sports Centre, Catering, Conference and Events and Student Accommodation.   • The Role As an important member of the Property and Facilities Services team you will work across all campuses; carrying out planned maintenance, reactive works and minor installations in your core trade and, through a flexible working arrangement other general maintenance duties with regards to Facilities/ Building services on behalf of the University. Other general maintenance duties may be required across the University portfolio with regards to Facilities/Building services on behalf of the University.

  • A qualified electrician who has completed a recognised apprenticeship, NVQ or City and Guilds Qualifications
  • 17th Edition IEE regulations qualification
  • Proven track record of working on electrical systems and excellent grasp of electrical safety
  • Excellent fault finding and diagnostic technique
  • A team player with good communication and relationship building skills
  • A flexible in approach to work and the ability to adapt to undertake different trade tasks., Disability Confident
