Lecturer – Motor Vehicle

Contract: Temporary until 30 May 2025

Hours: Part Time 9.25 hours

Salary: £40,170 - £48,357 per annum, pro rata


UHI Perth is one of Scotland’s leading Colleges of Further and Higher Education, and a large partner in Scotland’s newest University, the University of the Highlands and Islands.


We are looking for an experienced Automotive Engineer to join our team to support the teaching of Automotive Engineering programmes, including Light vehicle maintenance and repair.


As a lecturer within your specialisation, you will be responsible for preparing materials for learning, teaching and assessment, the teaching of theory and practical aspects, supervising student project work, and contributing to the development of the UHI programmes in engineering.


Opportunities for personal development are available through UHI and the campus is well resourced to deliver a first-class learning experience, with a well-balanced mix of classrooms and training workshops. Candidates should hold a level 3 qualification in the subject area as a minimum. You will also have practical industrial experience in the Automotive Sector and be familiar with techniques and processes used in the repair of modern vehicles. In addition, you should be a well-motivated self-starter, with good communication skills, and be able to work effectively with a team.
