Full Job Description

Wood are looking to hire an Onshore LOLER Focal Point. This is a 3 month position and will be responsible for preparation, development and creation of all lift plans through the construction lifecycle. You will will have input to modifications and projects at design and engineering phases through to construction delivery and will support the offshore construction team as required. The role will be involved in all day-to-day LOLER input to modification and projects to ensure safe and effective delivery of lifting operations while ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. The position will be based onshore on a hybrid basis between our clients office in Aberdeen and home working. There will also be a requirement for some travel to Bergen for onsite / office visits.,

  • Understanding and implementation of lifting regulations (LOLER) and safe systems of work.
  • Liaising with Lifting and Structural TA / Offshore LOLER support where an engineered solution is required to facilitate a specific lifting operation, where a complex lift needs to be performed, or where lifting from uncertified lifting point(s) is required
  • Provide technical guidance and support to offshore and ensure all lifts are performed safely
  • Write and develop lift plans and authorise.
  • Ensuring that all personnel involved in lifting operations understand the requirements of the LOLER Regulations.
  • Coaching and mentoring of onsite lifting personnel and the development of risk assessments for lifting operations.
  • Provide guidance on certification and examination requirements for existing and newly procured lifting equipment
  • Supporting complicated and complex lifting operations and maintaining portable lifting equipment inventory levels in support of lifting activities.
  • Ensuring that all lifting operations performed onsite are completed in accordance with companies procedures, reviewing and approving lift plans and supporting risk assessments.
  • Reviewing and endorsing third-party lift plans and risk assessments.
  • Ensure that all relevant requirements are implemented
  • Ascertain or confirm the weight of load in within the capacity of the lifting appliances and accessories (managed at the planning stage and captured in the lifting plan)
  • Select, use lifting equipment in accordance with the Lift Plans
  • Ensure lifting equipment and loads are properly inspected before use

    Competent in the use of Navisworks (3D model)
  • Trade certification
  • Recognized Rigging and Lifting qualification, minimum OPITO Rigger Competence Assessment, or NVQ Moving Loads level 3
  • Management of Working at Height (unit 2 and 4 or unit 7)
