Full Job Description

An award-winning developer with a large commercial team are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Paisley. The successful candidate will have a strong background in private housing projects and will be responsible for managing all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures.

Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities
- Conducting feasibility studies to estimate materials, time, and labour costs
- Negotiating and purchasing materials and subcontractor services
- Managing costs to ensure the project remains within budget
- Conducting cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work
- Performing risk and value management and cost control
- Advising on procurement strategy
- Allocating work to subcontractors
- Providing advice on contractual claims
- Valuing completed work and arranging payments
- Maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use
- Understanding the implications of health and safety regulations

Qualifications and Skills:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field
- Proven experience in private housing projects
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools (e.g., MS Office, COINS, etc.)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
