Post: Resilience Officer

Location: Waverley Gate (office relocating to Westport from Dec 24)

Salary: AfC Band 7 37hrs per week

We are looking to recruit to an exciting opportunity in NHS Lothians Resilience Team.  Individuals should be well motivated and with the ability to learn quickly and grow into the job.

We are seeking an individual with experience of working in a Category 1 provider such as the NHS and with the right attitude and approach to make a substantial contribution to our organisational resilience.

It is desirable for applicants to have some experience and training in emergency planning, business continuity management or other relevant discipline; further training will be provided as part of a personal development plan.

The purpose of this post is to provide specialist advice on Emergency Planning, Business Continuity and emerging issues to improve preparedness, communication and co-ordination across NHS Lothian and to comply with national guidance and legislation.

The post holder will advise on policy; provide support in response to emergency incidents and develop and deliver training and exercising to enhance knowledge, procedures, and operational capability, in consultation with internal and external partners.

In line with the above, the post holder will be part of a team who are responsible for ensuring NHS Lothian can discharge its responsibilities as a Category 1 responder as set out in the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and associated supporting Guidance for Scotland.
