W Edinburgh is expanding the sales team and is hiring a Sales Manager focusing on the MICE segment. We invite you to play an integral part in bringing to life this unique brand in Edinburgh., Reporting to the Director of Sales, the MICE Sales Manager at W Edinburgh will be an integral member of the sales team, responsible for overseeing group and catering related opportunities. Joining the team means you will be instrumental to the success of the hotel's operation and beyond. We are looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented and switched-on! As MICE Sales Manager, key aspects of your role will include:
- Work with the Director of Sales and team to ensure understanding of sales strategy and effective implementation of this strategy for the segments you are responsible for
- Provide positive and aggressive leadership to ensure maximum revenue potential
- Participate in sales calls with members of sales team to acquire new business and/or close on business
- Analyze market information by using sales systems and implement strategy to achieve the property's financial room and catering goals
- Review sales and catering guest satisfaction results to identify areas of improvement
- Develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external
- Work collaboratively with off-property sales channels to ensure the property needs are being achieved and the sales efforts are complementary, not duplicative
- Execute and support the operational aspects of business booked (e.g., generating proposal, writing contract, customer correspondence)
- Be a W brand ambassador, ensuring the brand's voice is present in your interactions with guests and talent
- Empower your team to resolve guest issues independently and with confidence
- Work in collaboration with all heads of departments to ensure a successful hotel operation
- Identify new business to achieve personal and location revenue goals.
- Understand the overall market - competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc. and knows how to sell against them.
- Close the best opportunities for the location based on market conditions and location needs.
- Gain understanding of the location's primary target customer and service expectations; serves the customer by understanding their business, business issues and concerns, to offer better business solution
The ability to build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders - Strong organization and multi-tasking skills
- Sophisticated communication skills
- Previous experience working in luxury hotel sector
- Previous experience working with domestic and international groups from different markets
- A positive mindset
