Senior Manager Opportunity:

Are you a CA or ACCA qualified and currently operating as an experienced manager or senior manager at a professional practice firm, managing a wide-ranging portfolio, looking for an autonomous, challenging and rewarding next career step?

Are you passionate about team development with proven experience and success of coaching and training junior team members?

We are looking for an energetic, experienced, forward-thinking candidate to support our clients' partners drive forward growth in their Accounting and Business Solutions team. Working closely with the Accounting and Business Solutions (ABS) partners you will build and maintain relations with clients ensuring high levels of client service and play a key role in nurturing a collaborative and supportive team culture in developing the ABS team.

The role is varied, and responsibilities include:

Team development:

  • You will coach and develop the ABS team allowing them to progress their technical knowledge to work on larger complex owner managed businesses.
  • As part of the management team, create a fun and engaging work experience for the team.
  • Work with the managers to improve efficiency of processes with the aim of improving department KPI's.
  • Work with the partners on new IT developments with the aim of enhancing our added-value offering.
  • Improve efficiency within the compliance offering to enable growth to their added-value advisory services.

Client work:

  • Manage a varied portfolio of clients, involving planning, controlling, and reviewing client work to ensure jobs are completed as efficiently and effectively as possible by allocating resources at an appropriate level and briefing/supporting the team from planning through to completion.
  • Reviewing all work received within agreed timescales, ensuring that any issues arising are referred to the ABS staff for completion before any outstanding key issues are drawn to the attention of the partner.
  • Proactively interact with other service lines (notably tax and payroll) as well as partners to ensure efficient and effective completion of jobs within agreed timescales and the provision of excellent client service.
  • Support partners at client and third-party meetings.
  • Ensure work in progress is reviewed regularly and fees raised on a timely basis.
  • Maximise recoveries by continually reviewing the use of technology with clients and internally, as well as reviewing our procedures.

Business development:

  • Support partners in the drafting of tenders and attendance at presentations as required.
  • Proactively contribute to departmental and firm-wide focused business development activities, including active membership of relevant sector groups, with the goal of winning new clients and identifying areas for additional services to be provided that meet the needs of existing clients.
  • Further develop your own professional network focused on identifying work winning opportunities beyond the firm's existing client base.

You will be a self-starter, confident and excel in building relationships and making impactful contributions. You will be client driven, commercially aware and computer literate with experience of on-line accounting platforms and related Apps.
