Salary range:  £36924 - £45163

FTE:  1.0 (35 hours per week)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, innovative candidate who is ready to make an impact on Procurement within our Leading International Technological University.

This role is for a Senior Procurement Specialist sitting within the university’s centralised procurement team within Finance, reporting to the Category Manager and supporting the wider team. You will play a key role in the delivery of the procurement strategy across the University and ensuring that the university’s procurement activity achieves value for money and is compliant with Public Sector procurement regulations.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with the University’s globally recognised science and engineering centres of excellence in innovative manufacturing technologies, multidisciplinary collaborative research and skills academies. This role will be involved in the procurement of high value capital equipment across our Science and Engineering categories and will be supported by a category manager with vast experience in this area.

With strong experience of working within a strategic procurement environment, the post holder will have responsibility for the strategic sourcing and commercial management of designated goods, services and works related commodities ensuring maximisation of cost efficiencies through the implementation of best procurement practice. The Senior Procurement Specialist will take the lead and be responsible for their assigned commodity portfolio particularly focusing on value for money against business need, risk reduction and delivery of sustainable procurement outcomes.

Applicants should have a relevant degree or equivalent. You should have sound experience in a strategic procurement environment, a strong working knowledge of Legislation and contract law and a proven record of accomplishment in delivering robust commercially sound contracts.
