The opportunity has arisen for a full time Community Occupational Therapists to join our forward thinking, dynamic team, based in East Lothian Community Hospital, Haddington. Our service is committed to developing effective and efficient ways of enabling people affected by disability to achieve their personal outcomes.

The role includes assessment of and planning intervention to support people in reaching their goals. This may include rehabilitation, treatment planning, assessment for small equipment and minor adaptations and when required, longer term intervention assessing for major adaptations and equipment. There are also opportunities to work with our Major Adaptations team when progressing major adaptations to owner occupied properties.

This role is a mix of short term crisis work and longer term complex case work. This allows you to complete a variety of case work and help balance the workload. It would be advantageous to have a broad range of knowledge, however training can and will be provided where required. We have a wonderful supportive team and work closely with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers, community care workers and telecare team.

You must hold an Occupational Therapy Diploma or Degree Qualification to apply and be registered the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Job Requirements

Relevant Qualifications
Educated to Dip/BSc/MSc in Occupational Therapy and able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience.

Registered as an Occupational Therapist with the Health Professions Council.

Driving Licence
As the duties of this role require you to effectively travel to successfully undertake the full remit of the role, you must hold a current driving licence and have access to a vehicle.*

PVG Membership
This post is considered as a Regulated Role with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020.
