Full Job Description
Murray Recruitment are recruiting an Accountant for our client based in Stirling. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract with an immediate interview and start available.
Role Overview:
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic business and financial commercial team, providing high-quality financial support across the organisation. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of all required financial reporting and will be involved in a variety of key commercial finance functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of quarterly management accounts including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement, and Variance Analysis
- Production and review of audit schedules and statutory accounts
- Liaising with external auditors during the annual audit process
- Preparation of monthly contract performance reports and contract sales reporting
- Completion of monthly VAT and CIS returns
- Reconciliation between job costing and financial systems
- Support in monthly cash flow reporting
- Assistance with budgeting, financial planning, and analysis
- Reconciliation of balance sheet and intercompany accounts, with investigation and resolution of variances
- Contribution to improvements in management reporting
- Compliance with internal controls within area of responsibility
- Management and mentoring of Accounts Assistants
- Support for Senior Management on ad-hoc projects and assignments
- Communication with staff across all levels of the business
Skills & Experience:
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail
- CA/ACCA/CIMA qualification preferred (not essential)
- Excellent planning, organisational, and time management skills
- Proactive, flexible, and adaptable to business needs
- Strong team player with collaborative mindset
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of SAGE, Maximo, and CIS operations is advantageous
Offering:
- Salary: Dependent on experience
- Contract: 12-month fixed-term
- Holidays: 35 days per year
- Pension: 10% employer contribution
- Bupa healthcare after 18 months
- Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 8.00am – 5.00pm, Friday 8.00am – 3.30pm
